The latest hot product in the world of alternative energy is the so called magnetic generator, but how to they work, and are they just a scam? Well, I did some investigation of my own and the results actually surprised me.
A magnetic generator is just what it sounds like. Its a device for generating electricity using the power of magnets. Most people know that magnets exert a force on each other according to their polarity, change the polarity of a magnet and you can make them attract or repel each other. Well, this attractive force, or repellent force, is the used as the basis for turning a shaft connected to a turbine that in turn generates electricity. The generator is completed by a power inverted to turn the current into AC for hooking up to your mains supply and a set of batteries to store the power during times when the device is not running. Its actually very simple.
I was also amazed to learn that these generators are actually free energy devices, that is, they produce more power than it takes to operate them. Sounds good. Almost too good you say - it has to be a scam you say. Whats more I would have agreed with you until I tried it for myself.
I went online and bought a guide to building my own magnetic generator, and after a couple of days and a couple of hundred bucks I had completed a working model. Not only was it a working model but I was also able to hook it up to my mains supply and watch the meter slow right down! Not bad for a DIY novice and a 'scam' product.
